Linkin Park (sometimes abbreviated simply LP) is an American rock band formed in 1996 in Agoura Hills (California).
In their music mixes alternative rock, alternative metal, hard rock, hip hop and rapcore. Along with other bands like Korn, Deftones and Limp Bizkit have contributed to the success of the nu metal genre, which are considered the most representative group.
They have sold over 50 million records, including 19 million in the U.S. alone.
